Quilting is finished on "Contentment"...

Here is is, stretched out on our lumpy ol' bed...the hand quilting is done on our anniversary quilt, "Contentment."

This is a crappy picture, but I will take a better one after I bind it.

Thank you to all of you for your love and encouragement on this project!  I could not have done it without YOU!  This is the first thing I have finished since my parents' fatal accident, and I am in a much better place now than I was when I resumed my work on this project.

Now, I am going to plunge my craggy thumb in my tub of Bag Balm and put on an old sock on my right hand for the rest of the day!

In stitches,
Teresa   :o)

  6. Beautiful work. There is something so awesome about a hand-quilted quilt in both beauty and texture. My hands don't like me as much when I hand quilt so I learned to FMQ on my DSM - having a ball, but it is different than hand quilting in look and texture. Love your work - truly art.

  18. While I usually focus on how much I love each individual block and the stories you tell, I have to say that your use of color in this quilt is amazing. To have created something so full of life and joy during a time of such grief is an incredible accomplishment. Thank you for sharing the journey with us.

  25. Very nice! The quilting did not take nearly as long as I thought it would. That encourages others to quilt their quilts by hand. This quilt is so happy and cheerful and pretty!

Your quilting and applique are wonderful (I love applique; it's my favorite!!). Can't wait to see your masterpiece binded. What's next?? HA!
