2014 AQS Chattanooga Quilt Show, Part Five...

"This quilt has a center medallion with Santa and toys.  There are twelve album style blocks around Santa, along with a holly border. Quilted by Karen Kielmeyer.  Design Source: "Baltimore Christmas" pattern by Pearl P. Pereira, P3 Designs."

"Jodi loves birds and Flying Geese.  In this quilt, she worked with hand dyed solids and liberated the Flying Geese to create movement."

Oops...sideways!  "Linda is not sure why this pattern caught her eye, but after the first thirty hours or so, Linda had to keep going. Design Source: "Times Square" pattern by Diane Tomlinson.

"This quilt took seven months to make.  Rosillis chose this quilt because of the beautiful floral patterns.  There are 360 leaves just in the borders.  Design Source: Floral Applique: Original Designs and Techniques for Medallion Quilts by Nancy Pearson."

"Judy made this quilt for the 'What Tickles My Fancy' challenge. Design Source: Another Season of Beautiful Blooms: Appliqued Quilts and Cushions by Susan Taylor Propst."

"Karolyn 'Nubin' Jensen's 'Floating Edge Finish' design from American Quilter magazine (September 2010) was the perfect setting for Ellen's favorite applique blocks."

"This quilt was a UFO in Connie's closet.  To finish the quilt, Therese and Connie decided to each work on the part they loved. Jan's creativity with the quilting stitches completed this traditional wallhanging.  Design Source: Color-Palette Applique: Winter in the Garden by Sheila Wintle."

The hand piecing of this quilt took place while Sandra was house sitting for her son and daughter-in-law while they were in Columbia, South America, adopting their two daughters.  The final process took eight weeks.  Handwork kept her from going insane. Design Source: "Wilderness Walk" pattern and "Handwork in the Smokies" pattern by Cindy Blackberg."

"Lisa fell in love with the fabrics and decided to make a Dresden Plate quilt.  She drafted the plate, appliqued it, and had the most fun quilting it!"

This quilt won Second Place in the "Wall Quilts - Traditional" group.

"This quilt was completed as an entry for a contest using only Jo Morton fabric.  Based on the pattern "Gathering Beautiful Roses" by Kathy Nakajima (Quiltmakers Newsletter Magazine), Lauren modified the size and style of applique to compliment her own voice.  Quilted by Norma Chapin."

"Being a new quilter, Pam's goal was to enter a quilt in a local quilt show.  With the help of her quilting friends, she obtained her first goal in 2012.  Quilted by Pam Kennedy."

This won an Honorable Mention in the "Wall Quilts - Traditional" group.

I found this quilt so FUN!  "This quilt was a challenge with Sharon's family and children each wanting their favorite fairytale character to be in the quilt so the whole family would be represented.  She calls this her family quilt.  Quilted by Charmaine Erickson.  Design Source: Disney characters from Internet Coloring book pages."

"Peggy used Robert Callahan's pattern "Album of Memories," reduced it in size and changed the border and several of the blocks.  It is hand quilted and hand appliqued.  Additional Design Source: patterns from Applique Masterpiece: Little Brown Bird Patterns by Margaret Docherty and A Baltimore Album: 25 Applique Blocks by Marsha Radke."

Wow...all this makes me want to sew...

In stitches,
Teresa   :o)

  5. I love the "Floral Applique" quilt with its bright colors. I haven't see Nancy Pearson's name for a long time. I used to belong to the same quilt guild as she did. Her patterns were very nice.
