I am mashing up three different blocks of my "Baltimore Rhapsody" quilt project at one time, trying to save myself a little time by doing "like things" together. It does make it seem a little like an assembly line, but I am so eager to get this initial quilt of 16 blocks TOGETHER...in this century.
The strawberries will be in the viola block and the grapes in the harp block.
I wonder what is going between the columns in this block...behind block #1?!? (I used to LOVE to watch "The Dating Game" when sick and home from school...)
When will I ever learn that I probably won't do the challenge?!? I do well just to get a quilt/quilts finished for that show. I am happy to have the fabric now, though. I hope I can find some more of this particular line - I think there is now a "Stonehenge II."
When I make myself sit for more than 10 minutes at a time, I will get things stitched so that I can show you completed blocks! There are three Christmas trees, still decorated (attracting witches), and a box of Christmas cards with addresses already written on the envelopes, but I am persevering with the mashing and prepping because I am itching for some stitching...
Have you taken your tree down? Oh, lie to me and make me feel less guilty...

Teresa, I have been following your blog for a long time and I LOVE you work. Last night I found out that you are cousin to one of my guild members, Peg Rawson! It's amazing how small the quilt world really is. Now I feel connected to your blog and maybe some of your applique talent will rub off on me. lol! I am addicted to following the progress on Baltimore Rhapsody. Thanks for a great blog.

I just could not do so many grapes! I love Stonehenge(I & II) and it made a perfect column.
ReplyDeleteOh, that tree is gorgeous!!! I've never tried anything like that, needless to say, and all that needleturn applique. Blows my mind, girlfriend. Can't wait to see the finished blocks and quilt top.

We are going to attend our granddaughter's participation in her teacher's students' recital this Friday (on viola!!). AND--it will occur at the very music college we attended--Hartt College of Music!! How about that one for serendipity--....never in my wildest imaginings did I think I would be doing this. What fun!! ReplyDeleteI just love your grapes! You've used such a great variety of fabrics. I just made a batch of grapes too - I had to go out and buy some purples - none in the stash.
ReplyDeleteTeresa, no lie, my tree is still up and the lights still go on in the evening. I always wait until Epiphany to take it down but I am running a little late this year. No worries. It WILL get taken care of. But first I have some stitching to do. BTW I love your container tree. It is beautiful. And the columns, and the grapes, and....

We took our tree down January 2nd. My DH helped to take it down and put away the boxes and tree for next year.

Teresa, I never put the tree up so I don't have to lie to you. No Christmas decorations at all this year. Bah Humbug! The tree is beautiful. I love the apple also. Have fun Chris

You might remember that I too am a fabraholic so I have to laugh when you post comments about your organized stash. I still have a basement full of fabrics with a purpose in mind. Lately I have been making blankets for the grandkids, of course with new fabrics I purchased :-) Can't stop buying new fabrics even though I already have drawers of fabric downstairs. My husband doesn't understand this of course, but is good natured about it.

My little 4 ft tree is still up and I turn the lights on every night!!!! I love the mixed colored lights, it's sooo cute! My reasoning is...I put it up late so I'm getting my monies worth, and besides, I'm NOT looking forward in hauling all the stuff BACK UP the stairs...ugh!

ReplyDeleteFor many years, my MIL just covered her tree with a garbage bag ( ornaments and all) and put it in the front room. When the next year rolled around, she was well prepared.
ReplyDeleteMy husband won't have the tree up after new years, if I don't take it down, he will! I did get my cards out this year, although I usually try to handmake some of them and that certainly didn't happen. I loved the dating game too!
