I think this post represents the last of the contest quilts.  I certainly didn't get pictures of ALL of the contest quilts.

In all, there were 345 quilts in the judged show.  This International contest had juried entries from 18 countries.  The break-down was as follows (for those keeping score at home):

          USA - 213
          JAPAN - 51
          AUSTRALIA - 20
          SPAIN - 15
          FRANCE - 3
          GERMANY - 3
          CANADA - 13
          S KOREA - 5
          MEXICO - 1
          BRAZIL - 3
          NEW ZEALAND - 3
          UNITED KINGDOM - 5
          INDIA - 1
          ISRAEL - 1
          KENYA - 1
          TAIWAN - 4
          CHINA - 2
          SWEDEN - 1

I have pictures of a few quilts from a very few of the Exhibits.  There were a total of 1072 additional quilts in 56 distinctive Exhibits.

I will post them next time.

There were so many incredible quilts, and they were all curated and displayed so well.

Stupidly, I did not allow enough time to even walk through all the exhibit quilts, let alone take pictures.

There is NO END of incredible quilts to see at this show.

Next time I am fortunate enough to return to Houston for the show, I will allow more time...this trip was a last minute whim.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

In stitches,
Teresa   :o)

  1. Your photos with info placards are great. I see so few of the quilts, I appreciate those who post their photos. It really takes several days just to see the quilts at Festival. Then there are the vendors!

  2. I am drawn to the log cabin style quilt in the first photo. You must wear a press pass and make people think you are officially taking pictures so they will get out of your way. You get such good photos.
