As promised, here are a couple of pictures as I start to mess up the quilt cave.
With that done, now the guessing game can continue concerning my new project.
What do you make of THIS?
All of these motifs don't necessarily go together in my nine 10-inch blocks.
Ever seen a toilet in a quilt?
I will embroider "TNT" on this...
Every gal needs a flame thrower...right?
I think these, plus embroidery, will speak for themselves...
A drill...
A pop bottle...
And finally, a shark!
Confused? Intrigued? Ready to send me off to the loony hospital?
Here are all the motifs completed thus far...
I still have some more glue prepping to do on the final motifs. When I show the final piece, maybe you will guess the theme of this quilt, if you have not already.
Glue prepping may be my favorite step. After getting all the appropriate edges turned under, it becomes a puzzle as I "build" and glue baste the pieces together into a cohesive unit.
And there is still that nagging fact that I have not picked a background fabric...cream or white. I guess I am leaning toward a white tone-on-tone.
Maybe the shark or the donkey will whisper something in my ear to give me the inspiration needed to make a decision.
In stitches,
Teresa :o)
OH my goodness! I have never seen a toilet on a quilt before!
ReplyDeleteYou are indeed a trailblazer!
I have no idea what you are up to in the cave!!
But if you are having fun, that's all that matters!
What an intriguing mix! Can't wait to see what you do with them!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how these all come together. Nice to see you messing up the Quilt Cave!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun - I'm intrigued!!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to figure out what you're hiding in the toilet. Or is it you in the toilet? And, yes, a friend did a whole quilt of functioning toilet seats.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I'm eyeing that burger and fries. :D (on a specific dietary plan for the past 4 weeks to get me through Black Belt testing with my Lupus - craving garbage today)
ReplyDeleteGuess your theme!?! Unless you're doing an alphabet quilt in random order I have no idea!! Sure are fun appliqued though. I look forward to watching your progress!
ReplyDeleteFun applique, love the toilet and the shark lol. Watching with interest!
ReplyDeleteYou always have just the right fabrics. The bubbles on the coke bottle and the swirls on the shark are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteOur quild did an out-house quilt block challenge once; so why not a toilet. These have to be things that represent family funs.
ReplyDeleteI am curious about the little pieces under the weights on the toilet? I can't wait for this "reveal"!
ReplyDeleteLooks like way too much fun! I particularly like the flame thrower!
