Hello...more pictures from the show (can you tell I was there by myself...LOL). This one won first place in the large, mixed technique category.
OK, drumroll...this next one was Best in Show. I think it won Best in Show at Houston in 2012 as well.
There were a lot of jaws on the floor in front (and in back) of this quilt, as you can imagine.
And here's the view from the back...they displayed it without the black curtain behind it.

I think this is a Robert Callahan design.
The next one was designed from a desired carpet.
This next one had amazing hand quilting...no ribbon...
I think I have another batch of pictures for one more post...I hope you aren't tired of beautiful quilts yet...

AMAZING! There is so much talent portrayed here! I have to admit that my jaw is one of those that is on the floor. "America, Let it Shine" is THE most amazing piece of art that I've ever seen. Speechless...and that doesn't happen very often. :) Thank you for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteSome more lovely quilts here. It's a good thing I wasn't a judge because that one does nothing extra for me. Actually, I like the back much more than the front. I love that first Appalachian flower quilt. I am just amazed by the quilting on all of them. That's the artistry that I want to acquire somehow. Or even just a smidge of it.
